89da13e731 mpi: remove NULL checks before frees
As Coverity points out, paths reaching these NULL checks will
have already dereferenced the pointers. So use the same condition
as for the allocation.

2c0fb66569 Fix out of tree builds.
The paths to these files need to be fully specified in
the out of tree build case. glibc-2.X.supp is a generated file so the
full path is deliberately not specified in that case.

Also adjust the mpi include dir location as valgrind.h is
generated as well and needs to be taken out of build dir.

Also adjust the location of generated xml file. And the search paths
for the xmllint, xsltproc and xmlto programs.

7b1a2b1edd Fix printf warning in libmpiwrap.c
libmpiwrap.c:1379:45: warning: format '%d' expects argument of type 'int',
but argument 5 has type 'MPI_Request' {aka 'struct ompi_request_t *'}

Unfortunately MPI_Request is an opaque type (we don't really know what
is in struct ompi_request_t) so we cannot simply print it as int. In
other places we print an MPI_Request as 0x%lx by casting it to an
unsigned long. Do the same here.

e2583c02a5 FreeBSD support, patch 2
Files in the root directory
Several Makefile.am files that have dependencies on FreeBSD autoconf
variables. Included a few new filter files to act as placeholders
to create new freebsd subdirectories.

Updated NEWS with the FreeBSD bugzilla items plus a couple of other
items fixed indirectly.

3415e1e1ac Bug 401416 - Compile failure with openmpi 4.0.
In short, use the missing symbol names only when compiling against OpenMPI
version 3 or below, or when compiling against a non-OpenMPI implementation.
Modified version of a patch originally from Mark Wielaard.

c9d1cd0db3 Use pkglibexec as vglibdir.
vglibdir is the directory from where valgrind loads its internal tool
executables and vgpreloads. Currently vglibdir is pkglibdir, so those
internal tools are intermingeled with normal executables and libraries
that the user might use directly.

Make vglibdir equal to pkglibexecdir so the internal tools get installed
and loaded from libexec and don't get get stored under lib.

This leaves just the static archives and the mpiwrapper libraries that
the user would link/load themselves under pkglibdir.

This seems more in line with the FHS lib/libexec standard and makes it
slightly easier to combine the tools from a multilib target (say the
memcheck-amd64-linux and memcheck-x86-linux tools) because they would
be installed under the same directory, while the pkglibdir can differ
depending on arch/target (lib/lib64).

e484dcb4ff Squash deprecation warnings from GCC in mpi wrapper code.
We wrap some deprecated things in libmpiwrap. Since we do want to keep
wrapping those add -Wno-deprecated-declarations to squash warnings like:

libmpiwrap.c:281:4: warning: ‘ompi_mpi_ub’ is deprecated: MPI_UB is deprecated in MPI-2.0 [-Wdeprecated-declarations]

Tested on deb6/amd64 with a static MPI (now it will be ignored
rather than make the Valgrind build failing), with a shared MPI,

42ada29286 Add a new client request and pair of macros,
VALGRIND_{DISABLE,ENABLE}_ERROR_REPORTING, which allow a thread to
temporarily disable reporting of errors it makes. This is useful for
making Memcheck behave sanely in the presence of some MPI
implementations. Also mark up libmpiwrap.c accordingly.

b05a2a18d7 This commit merges the BUILD_TWEAKS branch onto the trunk. It has the
following improvements:

- Arch/OS/platform-specific files are now included/excluded via the
preprocessor, rather than via the build system. This is more consistent
(we use the pre-processor for small arch/OS/platform-specific chunks
within files) and makes the build system much simpler, as the sources for
all programs are the same on all platforms.

- Vast amounts of cut+paste Makefile.am code has been factored out. If a
new platform is implemented, you need to add 11 extra Makefile.am lines.
Previously it was over 100 lines.

- Vex has been autotoolised. Dependency checking now works in Vex (no more
incomplete builds). Parallel builds now also work. --with-vex no longer
works; it's little use and a pain to support. VEX/Makefile is still in
the Vex repository and gets overwritten at configure-time; it should
probably be renamed Makefile-gcc to avoid possible problems, such as
accidentally committing a generated Makefile. There's a bunch of hacky
copying to deal with the fact that autotools don't handle same-named files
in different directories. Julian plans to rename the files to avoid this
  problem.

- Various small Makefile.am things have been made more standard automake
style, eg. the use of pkginclude/pkglib prefixes instead of rolling our
  own.

- The existing five top-level Makefile.am include files have been
  consolidated into three.

- Most Makefile.am files now are structured more clearly, with comment
headers separating sections, declarations relating to the same things next
to each other, better spacing and layout, etc.

- Removed the unused exp-ptrcheck/tests/x86 directory.

- Renamed some XML files.

- Factored out some duplicated dSYM handling code.

- Split auxprogs/ into auxprogs/ and mpi/, which allowed the resulting
Makefile.am files to be much more standard.

- Cleaned up m_coredump by merging a bunch of files that had been
  overzealously separated.

The net result is 630 fewer lines of Makefile.am code, or 897 if you exclude
the added Makefile.vex.am, or 997 once the hacky file copying for Vex is
removed. And the build system is much simpler.
