During the life of the series that introduced the DRM_DISPLAY_HDMI_STATE_HELPER option, we reworked the Kconfig option dependency setup to rely on depends on with commitf6d2dc03fa("drm: Switch DRM_DISPLAY_HDMI_HELPER to depends on") which got reverted later on because it was creating too many issues by commitd7c128cb77("Revert "drm: Switch DRM_DISPLAY_HDMI_HELPER to depends on""). However, since the series was out of tree at that time, DRM_DISPLAY_HDMI_STATE_HELPER wasn't properly updated to take the revert into account and is now creating build issues. Let's switch the depends on to a select to fix this. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the reStructuredText markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
