The opening comment mark '/**' is used for highlighting the beginning of kernel-doc comments. The header for samples/bpf/ibumad_kern.c follows this syntax, but the content inside does not comply with kernel-doc. This line was probably not meant for kernel-doc parsing, but is parsed due to the presence of kernel-doc like comment syntax(i.e, '/**'), which causes unexpected warnings from kernel-doc: warning: This comment starts with '/**', but isn't a kernel-doc comment. Refer Documentation/doc-guide/kernel-doc.rst * ibumad BPF sample kernel side Provide a simple fix by replacing this occurrence with general comment format, i.e. '/*', to prevent kernel-doc from parsing it. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
