In order to produce a generic kernel, a user can select CONFIG_COMBO_SPINLOCKS which will fallback at runtime to the ticket spinlock implementation if Zabha or Ziccrse are not present. Note that we can't use alternatives here because the discovery of extensions is done too late and we need to start with the qspinlock implementation because the ticket spinlock implementation would pollute the spinlock value, so let's use static keys. This is largely based on Guo's work and Leonardo reviews at [1]. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the reStructuredText markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
