The vfs_getxattr_alloc() function currently returns a ssize_t value despite the fact that it only uses int values internally for return values. Fix this by converting vfs_getxattr_alloc() to return an int type and adjust the callers as necessary. As part of these caller modifications, some of the callers are fixed to properly free the xattr value buffer on both success and failure to ensure that memory is not leaked in the failure case. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
